Pregovori između Warner Musica i YouTubea negativno su završeni što dovodi do povlačenja Warnerovih muzičara poput Madonne, Red Hot Chili Peppersa i R.E.M.-a sa youtube-a.

Najposjećeniji videospotovi u vlasništvu su Warner Music koja je od YouTubea tražila veći posto prihoda jer smatraju kako su za veliku posećenost video servisu zaslužni i njihovi spotovi. Nije objavljeno finansijsko potraživanje Warner Musica, ali prema nekim izvorima od YouTubea dobija male iznose te je rezultat bio i očekivan.

YouTube se o ovom slučaju nije zvanično izjasnio, ali poznato je kako je samo u SAD-u tokom novembra imao 100 miliona poseta. Ukoliko se Warnerova odluka sprovede s YouTubea bi moglo biti uklonjeno stotine hiljada video spotova pomenutih muzičara što bi značajno uticalo na zaradu najpopularnijeg video servisa.
